Project Management Officer | Manufacturing ScaleUp | Essex
Harmonic are delighted to be retained on a Project Management Officer role with a Manufacturing Scaleup leading designer and producer of high-end products for the Hospitality and Residential space. Manufacturing UK products with a turnover of circa £30m they are embarking on a global scaleup with new product lines and an increasing US presence.

With a wide range of projects being delivered across the globe now is the perfect time for their first PMO to come on board and drive their scale-up journey.
The Role
We are actively seeking a dynamic, resourceful, and hands-on Project Management Officer (PMO) to join our Manufacturing Scaleup team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the successful delivery of various operational projects (BAU) and strategic transformational projects across the organisation. Located at HQ in Essex, UK, and reporting to the Director of Operations, you will uphold high standards of project and change management processes while ensuring organisational controls are effectively maintained.
As a newly established position within our organisation, the PMO will also become a valued member of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Collaborating closely with the SLT and Executive team members, your responsibilities will involve establishing and upholding superior project management standards encompassing planning, budgeting, objectives, resource management, and project communications. Managing multiple project workstreams within the business, you will champion continuous improvement for project management and governance processes, including risk management, compliance, and change and control enhancements.

- Managing multiple workstreams, encompassing both business-as-usual (BAU) and strategic transformational projects across the organization.
- Coordinating SLT and Executive members to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.
- Creating detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project or another project tool.
- Collaborating with the Finance Team to establish and monitor budgets.
- Tracking and maintaining decisions and actions throughout the review process.
- Ensuring consistent application of effective Project Management techniques and adherence to project management processes.
- Implementing necessary governance over project and/or program delivery.
- Producing high-quality minutes and circulating them promptly.
- Ensuring stakeholder engagement to support timely delivery.
- Optimising processes in line with system roll-outs and improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Managing resource allocation across multiple projects aligned with business priorities.
- Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project success.
- Monitoring and reporting on initiative performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Establishing and maintaining effective project management reporting and governance controls.
- Maintaining data required for project delivery and engaging with functions to assess and drive data and reporting requirements.
- Creating monthly reporting packs for senior stakeholder meetings, providing visibility on delivery progress and performance analysis.
- Identifying project risks, issues, and dependencies, seeking resolution before escalation.
- Collaborating with SLT and Executive team members to capture and manage changes to project scope of works (SOW) and milestones.
Requirements:
- Previous experience leading operational BAU and transformation projects within a B2B manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of project management tools and techniques, specifically reporting governance and assurance.
- Experience in independently leading Working Groups, Steering Committees, Project Management meetings, or other related meetings.
- Demonstrable experience in energizing teams to meet critical timescales and deliver on project objectives and budget.
- A track record of delivering on minutes, actions, escalations, and reporting.
- Attention to detail and the ability to track and manage multiple project workstreams.
- A clear understanding of risk management and its application in project management.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow, or other project management tools.
- Experience in Change Management.
- Experience in global B2B environments of similar sizes (SME).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or demonstrated equivalent practical work experience.
- Project Management qualifications such as Prince 2, PMP, Agile, or other project management-focused qualifications.
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + 10% bonus
Location: Essex
