Director of People Operations | Fast-Growth Tech Startup | New York
Harmonic are delighted to be working exclusively with an incredibly fast growth Technology start-up who are backed by one the world's leading Venture Capital Funds. With a global presence covering the UK, Europe, and the US, a recent Series B fundraise is driving consolidation in these markets as well as the delivery of a major expansion strategy into developing countries.
This role will champion their mission, vision and core values and provide solutions to employee related matters by supporting the business and driving greater efficiency.
The Role:
You will be working alongside the UK + US based operations team and be responsible for taking ownership of building market- leading policies, ensuring the business is a great place for colleagues to progress and develop and building a culture in which people are genuinely excited to work every day. You will also bring a strategic approach to talent acquisition, retention, organizational structuring, and learning & development.
This individual will be responsible for human resources, organizational development, and cross-company operations. Based in NY, this role will lead a global team in reinforcing a culture of innovation, transparency and inclusion supported through people-minded programs, policies, and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Developing a People strategy and roadmap, leading the team in delivering improvements that enable the business to prosper, both at an individual and team level.
- Refine organizational structures, promoting efficiency and line manager effectiveness.
- Grow and lead the Talent Acquisition team to meet recruitment and retention goals.
- Identify Learning & Development needs across the business, sourcing and delivering innovative solutions.
- Build relationships with external specialists, keeping up to date with emerging reward and culture trends, innovations, and best practices.
- Lead the company engagement survey programme, innovate, and promote the delivery of relevant change measures as a result.
- Manage complex and highly sensitive employee relations, providing advice and support to managers with discretion, ensuring legislation is followed, liaising with legal advisors as needed.
What you need:
- 7+ years' experience in HR/People Operations
- Track record of scaling People, Talent, and HR globally in a small to mid-scale environment
- A strategic people-leader with proven HR generalist experience, who can be proactive, think ahead and future-proof an organisation for scale
- Solid understanding of the talent lifecycle and customer experience perspective
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver quality service and meet established deadlines
- Previous experience managing a remote team
- Interpersonal and communication experience and experience building relationships at all levels of the organization
- A thorough understanding of US HR practices, including employment law and regulations
- Previous experience in a fast-growth Startup
- Experience leading a people operations team

Package:
- $160,000 - $170,000
